Vijeta meaning
Vijeta (विजेता) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Victor, conqueror; one who wins
Also used to mean: victorious, winner
Vijeta (विजेता) is the Sanskrit noun vijetṛ, "vanquisher, conqueror", in its usual nominative form vijetā. It comes from vi-ji, "to conquer", the root of vijaya, "victory". Monier-Williams cites it for victory in battle and in argument, and records "conqueror of the cities" as a title of Shiva. In Hindi and Marathi vijetā is the everyday word for the winner of a match or contest. Name lists give "victorious", matching the dictionary. As a given name it is used mostly for girls.
