Anupama meaning
Anupama (अनुपमा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, अ, it is a Mesh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Incomparable, matchless; excellent, best
Also used to mean: unique
Anupama (अनुपमा) is the feminine of Sanskrit anupama, which Monier-Williams defines as incomparable, matchless, excellent and best. It joins an-, "without", to upamā, "comparison" or "likeness", so it describes someone beyond comparison. The dictionary also notes anupamā as the name of the female elephant guarding one of the quarters of the sky. Name lists give "incomparable" or "unique", in line with the dictionary. Anupama is used across India and is the title of a 1966 Hindi film; a recent television serial spells it Anupamaa.
