Vishakha meaning
Vishakha (विशाखा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
The lunar asterism Viśākhā; also a woman's name
Also used to mean: star, a nakshatra
Vishakha (विशाखा) is the Sanskrit name of one of the lunar mansions (nakshatras), and the word itself means "branched" or "forked", from vi- and śākhā, "branch". Monier-Williams describes the asterism as figured by a decorated arch, with four stars, presided over by Indra and Agni. In Krishna devotion Vishakha is one of Radha's closest friends among the gopis, and in Buddhist texts Visākhā is a famous woman disciple of the Buddha. Name lists give "star", which matches the dictionary.
