Also used to mean: intelligent
Medhavi (मेधावी) is the Sanskrit medhāvin, in its nominative form medhāvī, built from medhā, "intelligence, wisdom". Monier-Williams defines it as having intelligence or wisdom, a usage found from the Atharvaveda onwards, and as a noun a learned man or teacher. He records the feminine medhāvinī as a name of the wife of Brahmā, the creator. Name lists give intelligent or wise, matching the dictionary, and in Hindi medhāvī is still the everyday word for a gifted student. The name sits naturally beside Medha and is used mostly for girls.
