Yashodhara meaning
Yashodhara (यशोधरा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Bearer of glory; the wife of Siddhartha, mother of Rahula
Also used to mean: wife of buddha
Yashodhara (यशोधरा) is Sanskrit yaśodharā, from yaśas, "fame, glory", and dhara, "bearing, holding", so it means "she who bears glory". Monier-Williams gives the masculine as "maintaining glory" and records Yaśodharā as the mother of Rāhula, that is, the wife of Prince Siddhartha before he became the Buddha. In Buddhist tradition she later became a nun. The Hindi poet Maithilisharan Gupt retold her story in his long poem Yashodhara. Name lists give "bearer of glory", matching the dictionary.
