Mansi meaning
Mansi (मानसी) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, मा, it is a Simha rashi name (Magha nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Of the mind, spiritual; worship performed in the mind
Mansi (मानसी) is a spelling of Sanskrit mānasī, the feminine of mānasa, "belonging to the mind or spirit". Monier-Williams records mānasa as mental or spiritual as opposed to bodily, and as something done silently in the mind, like an unspoken prayer. The feminine mānasī names worship offered in the mind rather than before an image, and it is also the name of a Kiṃnarī, one of the semi-divine beings of Hindu and Buddhist lore, and of one of the Vidyādevīs, goddesses of knowledge. The related word mānasa also names the sacred lake on Mount Kailāsa, known today as Manasarovar. Families often spell the name Manasi, closer to the Sanskrit.
