Hima meaning
Hima (हिमा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Snow, frost, cold; as himā, winter and a name of Durgā
Hima (हिमा) comes from Sanskrit hima, which Monier-Williams gives as cold or cool, and as a noun frost, snow and the cold season; the same root gives Himālaya, "abode of snow". The feminine himā is recorded for the winter season, for night, and as an epithet of Durgā, the goddess. Name lists give Hima as "snow", which matches the dictionary. The best-known bearer today is the sprinter Hima Das from Assam, a world junior champion over 400 metres.
