Kunda meaning
Kunda (कुंदा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin (Marathi usage). By its first sound, कु, it is a Mithun rashi name (Ardra nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
A kind of jasmine (Jasminum multiflorum); the jasmine flower
Kunda (कुंदा) is the name of a white jasmine. Monier-Williams gives Sanskrit kunda as a kind of jasmine, Jasminum multiflorum or pubescens, and also its flower. The flower's whiteness made it a favourite image in Sanskrit verse: the well-known prayer to Saraswati opens yā kundendu-tuṣāra-hāra-dhavalā, "she who is white as the kunda flower, the moon, frost and a string of pearls". Name lists give "jasmine", as the dictionary does. In Maharashtra Kunda is used as a girls' name.
