Himani meaning
Himani (हिमानी) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
A mass or collection of snow
Also used to mean: parvati
Himani (हिमानी) is Sanskrit himānī, from hima, "snow, cold, frost". Monier-Williams glosses it as "a mass or collection of snow", the same hima that gives the Himālaya, the "abode of snow". Baby-name lists usually give "snow", and many add that Himani is a name of Pārvatī, the daughter of the snow mountain Himavat. The dictionary does not record himānī in that sense, so the Pārvatī link is best read as an association drawn from the mountain rather than a meaning of the word itself. The name begins with हि, a short i, and is also spelt Himanee. It shares its root with Himanshu, "the moon", and Himadri, "the snow mountain".
