Karnika meaning
Karnika (कर्णिका) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
An earring; the seed-head at the heart of a lotus
Karnika (कर्णिका) comes from Sanskrit karṇa, "ear". Monier-Williams gives karṇikā first as an earring or ornament for the ear, and then as the pericarp of a lotus, the raised seed-head at the centre of the flower. Its other senses include a round knob, the central point of anything, a small brush, and the name of an apsara in the Mahabharata. Baby-name lists usually explain Karnika as "earring" or "heart of the lotus", both of which match the dictionary.
