Albie meaning
Albie is an international boy's name of English origin (from Germanic).
Pet form of Albert, "noble and bright"
Albie began as an affectionate English short form of Albert and is now also given as a full name in its own right. Its meaning is therefore that of Albert: the Old High German name Adalbert, which the Online Etymology Dictionary explains as adal, "noble family", plus beraht, "bright". The friendly -ie ending is the same one found in Alfie, Archie and Charlie. Occasionally Albie is used as a pet form of other names that begin with Al-, such as Alban. For Indian families it is short and easy to say, and it can be paired with a formal name like Albert on official papers.
