We haven't confirmed a dictionary meaning for the name itself. The meaning above is how families commonly use it.
Darshika (दर्शिका) is a modern name from the Sanskrit root dṛś, "to see", which also gives darśana, "sight", and darśin, which Monier-Williams records as seeing, knowing and showing. The form darśikā is not itself in the classical dictionaries, so the name has no dictionary meaning of its own. Families use it in the sense of its root, and Indian name lists give "sight" or "perceiver"; a few also say "blessing", which we could not trace to any source. It is used in India and among Sri Lankan families.
