Ekonkar meaning
Ekonkar (ਏਕਓਂਕਾਰ) is a Sikh boy's name of Punjabi origin.
The One Creator (from ੴ, Ik Oankar)
Ekonkar (ਏਕਓਂਕਾਰ) is taken from ੴ, Ik Oankar, the first words of the Guru Granth Sahib on Ang 1, which affirm that the Creator is one. The Mahan Kosh explains Oankar as the Creator who protects all, and also as the sound Om, and adds that in the Guru's teaching the Creator is one. Guru Nanak's long hymn Dakhni Oankar begins on Ang 929. As a name it means "the One Creator". It is a modern boy's name, and its Gurmukhi spelling varies.
