Hafsa meaning
Hafsa (حفصہ) is a Muslim and international girl's name of Arabic origin.
From ḥafṣ, a lion's cub
Also used to mean: young lioness
Hafsa (حفصہ) is the feminine of ḥafṣ, which the 13th-century Arabic dictionary Lisān al-ʿArab records as a lion's cub; it also lists Ḥafṣa as a woman's name. Name lists today give "young lioness", a feminine rendering of the same sense. The name is honoured as that of Ḥafṣa bint ʿUmar (c. 605–665), daughter of the second caliph ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb, who married the Prophet Muhammad in 625 after being widowed. The written pages of the Quran gathered under Abū Bakr passed into her keeping, and when the caliph ʿUthmān standardised the text he used her copy. The name itself does not occur in the Quran.
