Ifrah meaning
Ifrah (افراح) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin.
Gladdening, making joyful (verbal noun of afraḥa)
Also used to mean: happiness, delight
Ifrah (افراح) is usually explained as Arabic ifrāḥ, the verbal noun of afraḥa, from the root f-r-ḥ, "to rejoice", which also gives faraḥ, "joy". Lane's lexicon defines afraḥahu as "he, or it, gladdened him, made him happy", though it also notes two rarer, opposite uses, "grieved him" and, of a debt, "weighed him down". Name lists give Ifrah as "joy" or "happiness", the sense parents intend. Some scholars advise against the shorter spelling Ifra, which they read as a different word.
