Heramb meaning
Heramb (हेरंब) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, हे, it is a Kark rashi name (Pushya nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
A name of Gaṇeśa
Heramb (हेरंब) is Sanskrit heramba, which Monier-Williams gives as a name of Gaṇeśa in the Mahābhārata and the Kathāsaritsāgara. The dictionary also records "a buffalo", "a boastful hero" and a Buddhist deity identified with Heruka, but it offers no derivation. In worship Heramba is a five-headed form of Gaṇeśa who rides a lion, important in Tantric practice and especially honoured in Nepal. The Brahma Vaivarta Purāṇa explains the name syllable by syllable as "protector of the helpless", and some name lists repeat that reading; it is a traditional explanation rather than a dictionary sense. One of the monthly Sankashti Chaturthi fasts for Gaṇeśa is also named after Heramba.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Ganesha.
