Jui meaning
Jui (जुई) is a Hindu girl's name of Marathi origin.
The eared jasmine, Jasminum auriculatum
Jui (जुई) is the Marathi name of a small, white, sweet-scented jasmine. Molesworth's Marathi dictionary identifies it as the eared jasmine, Jasminum auriculatum, and Date's Marathi dictionary describes it as a climber whose flowers are a little smaller than those of the jaai. It is the Marathi counterpart of the Hindi name Juhi, said without the h. Flower names are a Marathi tradition for girls, alongside Jaai, Sayali, Aboli and Prajakta, and Jui strings with them into the gajra garlands worn in the hair.
