Likhit meaning
Likhit (लिखित) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Written, drawn, painted; name of an ancient sage and lawgiver
Also used to mean: destined
Likhit (लिखित) is Sanskrit likhita, the past participle of likh, "to scratch, to write". Monier-Williams gives its senses as scratched, written, mentioned, drawn or painted, and as a noun, a document or scripture. The same entry names Likhita as an ancient sage and author of a law-book, usually paired with his brother Shankha; the Mahabharata tells how King Sudyumna punished Likhita for taking fruit from Shankha's hermitage without asking. Name lists give "written", which matches the dictionary; some add "destined", which is not a dictionary sense. The spelling Likhith is used in the Telugu states and Karnataka.
