Chintamani meaning
Chintamani (चिंतामणि) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
'thought-gem', a fabled jewel that grants every wish
Also used to mean: wish-fulfilling gem, lord ganesha
Chintamani (चिंतामणि) is Sanskrit cintā-maṇi, from cintā, "thought", and maṇi, "jewel". Monier-Williams gives it as the "thought-gem", a fabulous jewel said to grant its owner every wish, and also as a name of Brahmā and of a Buddha. In Maharashtra the name is closely tied to Ganesha, worshipped as Chintamani at Theur, one of the eight Ashtavinayak shrines, and baby-name lists give it as "wish-fulfilling gem" or Lord Ganesha. Marathi families often shorten it to Chintaman, and Odia families say Chintamoni.
