Anshul meaning
Anshul (अंशुल) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, अ, it is a Mesh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Radiant; a name of the sage Cāṇakya
Anshul (अंशुल) is the Sanskrit aṃśula, a rare word that Monier-Williams lists on the very first page of his dictionary with two senses: "radiant", and a name of the sage Cāṇakya. Both come from the old lexicographers rather than from literature, so the word was never common in texts. It is related to aṃśu, which the same dictionary gives as a fine filament, especially of the Soma plant, and also as a ray of light or a sunbeam. Indian name lists give Anshul as "radiant" or "bright", sometimes "sunny", which matches the dictionary. It sits with Anshu and Anshuman in a small family of names built on the idea of rays of light.
