Maqsood meaning
Maqsood (مقصود) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Intended, aimed at; an object of desire or purpose
Maqsood (مقصود) is the Arabic maqṣūd, the passive participle of qaṣada, which Lane's lexicon explains as to go towards, make for, or aim at something, to make it one's object. Lane gives qaṣd, together with maqṣūd, as an object of aim, endeavour, desire or wish, one's intention or purpose. So the name means "intended, aimed at, desired". Name lists give it as "intended" or "aim", matching the dictionary. Lane adds that maqṣad al-kalām means the intended sense of a saying, its meaning. Maqsud is another spelling.
