Paari meaning
Paari (பாரி) is a Tamil boy's name.
Pari, an ancient chieftain famed for his generosity
Paari (பாரி) is the name of Vel Pari, the Sangam-age chieftain of the Parambu hills whom Tamil memory holds up as the model of generosity. The Tamil Lexicon records him as one of the seven kaṭai-vaḷḷalkaḷ, the last great patrons celebrated by the poets. The best-known story says that, finding a mullai jasmine creeper with nothing to climb, he left his chariot for it. His friend the poet Kapilar praised him in the Puṟanāṉūṟu. The name is unrelated to the Persian girl's name Pari, "fairy".
