Pascal meaning
Pascal is a Christian boy's name of French origin (from Latin).
Of the Passover or Easter (Latin paschalis)
Also used to mean: Easter child, born at Easter
Pascal comes from Latin paschalis, 'of Easter', which Webster's dictionary defines as belonging to the Passover or to Easter, as in 'paschal lamb' or 'paschal candle'. Behind it lies Greek pascha, which Strong's Concordance traces to an Aramaic word for the Passover; the early Church used the same word for Easter, since Christ's death and rising fell at Passover time. So the name has long been given to boys born around Easter, and name lists call it 'Easter child'. The French mathematician Blaise Pascal is its best-known bearer. Indian Catholic families use Pascal and the older Paschal.
