Pushkar meaning
Pushkar (पुष्कर) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Blue lotus; water; sky; a lake; the pilgrimage site Pushkar
Also used to mean: sacred lake
Pushkar (पुष्कर) is the Sanskrit puṣkara, which Monier-Williams gives first as the blue lotus and then as water, the sky, a pond or lake, and the sun. It is also the name of the holy lake and town of Pushkar near Ajmer in Rajasthan, sacred to Brahma, and Monier-Williams records Pushkara as a name of Krishna and of Shiva. In the Mahabharata Pushkara is the brother of King Nala who wins his kingdom at dice. Name lists give "lotus" or "sacred lake", which match the dictionary.
