Soundarya meaning
Soundarya (सौंदर्या) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin (South Indian usage).
Beauty, loveliness, gracefulness, elegance
Soundarya (सौंदर्या) is the Sanskrit noun saundarya, formed from sundara, "beautiful". Monier-Williams defines it as "beauty, loveliness, gracefulness, elegance" and notes a further sense in the Ramayana, "noble conduct, generosity". The same word gives the title of the Saundarya Lahari, "wave of beauty", a hymn to the goddess traditionally attributed to Adi Shankaracharya. Name lists give "beauty", which matches the dictionary. The name is used mainly in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
