Tanushka meaning
Tanushka (तनुष्का) is a Hindu girl's name.
Meaning today
Sweet, slender
In the dictionaries
The name isn't in the classical dictionaries we use, so it is most likely a modern name. The meaning above is how families commonly use it.
Tanushka (तनुष्का) is a modern Indian girls' name. It is not found in the Sanskrit dictionaries, so its meaning cannot be confirmed. Name lists explain it as "sweet" or as "slender, delicate"; the second idea comes from Sanskrit tanu, which Monier-Williams gives as "thin, slender, delicate" and also "the body", the root of names such as Tanvi, Tanuja and Tanushree. The "-shka" ending, however, is not a regular Sanskrit suffix, and the Russian pet name Tanyushka, from Tatiana, is unrelated. We treat it as a modern name whose meaning rests with the family.
