Tanaya meaning
Tanaya (तनया) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
A daughter
Tanaya (तनया) is the Sanskrit word tanayā, "a daughter". It is the feminine of tanaya, which Monier-Williams gives as a son, a child or offspring, and, as an adjective, "propagating a family" or "belonging to one's own family". In the Mahābhārata the dual form tanayau even means "a son and a daughter" together. Name lists give Tanaya as "daughter", which matches the dictionary exactly. The boys' name Tanay comes from the masculine form. Tanaya is short, easy to spell, and is used across India.
