Tanmayi meaning
Tanmayi (तन्मयी) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin (Marathi and South Indian usage).
Absorbed in, made up of or identical with that (feminine)
Tanmayi (तन्मयी) is the feminine form of Sanskrit tanmaya, made of tad, "that", and -maya, "made of". Monier-Williams defines tanmaya as made up of that, absorbed in that, or identical with that. In devotional and philosophical writing it describes a state of complete absorption, as when a devotee becomes one with the object of worship or an artist is lost in the work. The masculine form is Tanmay. Tanmayi is used in Maharashtra and, often spelled Tanmayee, in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka.
