Udit meaning
Udit (उदित) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, उ, it is a Vrishabh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Risen, ascended; elevated; born; visible
Also used to mean: rising sun
Udit (उदित) is the Sanskrit udita, "risen", the past participle of the verb ud-i, "to rise". Monier-Williams gives it as risen or ascended, lofty and elevated, grown, born, and become visible, and it is often said of the sun or moon when it has come up over the horizon. A different word with the same spelling, from vad, "to speak", means "said" or "declared". Name lists give Udit as "risen" or "the rising sun", in line with the first sense. A well-known bearer is the playback singer Udit Narayan.
