Suryadev meaning
Suryadev (सूर्यदेव) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, सू, it is a Kumbh rashi name (Shatabhisha nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
The god Sūrya, the sun god
Suryadev (सूर्यदेव) is Sanskrit sūrya-deva, from sūrya, "the sun or its deity", and deva, "god". Monier-Williams gives it simply as the god Sūrya, and records it as the name of an author; one Sūryadeva Yajvan was a medieval commentator on astronomical works. Surya is worshipped as the visible god who brings light and life, and is honoured at festivals such as Makar Sankranti and Chhath. Name lists give Suryadev as "sun god", matching the dictionary. It is a fuller, more devotional form of the name Surya.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Surya.
