Suryansh meaning
Suryansh (सूर्यांश) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, सू, it is a Kumbh rashi name (Shatabhisha nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
A portion of the sun
Suryansh (सूर्यांश) joins two Sanskrit words: sūrya, "the sun" or the sun god, and aṃśa, "a share, portion or part". When the two meet, the vowels merge to give sūryāṃśa, "a portion of the sun". That is the sense on Indian name lists, which sometimes render it more loosely as a sunbeam or a ray of the sun. Monier-Williams has entries for both parts but none for the compound, so Suryansh is a modern coinage built from old words rather than a name found in the classical texts. Aṃśa has a long history of its own: MW also records Aṃśa as the name of one of the Ādityas, the solar gods. The name is given to boys.
