Aditya meaning
Aditya (आदित्य) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Son of Aditi; a god, especially Sūrya, the sun
Aditya (आदित्य) is the Sanskrit āditya, "son of Aditi". In the Vedas the Ādityas are a group of sky gods, the sons of the goddess Aditi, usually led by Varuṇa and including Mitra and Aryaman; in later times their number was fixed at twelve and linked with the twelve solar months. Monier-Williams also uses āditya for a god in general and especially for Sūrya, the sun, and for Viṣṇu in his dwarf form, Vāmana, who was born to Aditi. Indian name lists today give Aditya as "the sun", which is one of the word's dictionary senses, so popular use and the dictionary agree. The spelling Aaditya shows the long first vowel; both spellings are the same name.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Surya.
