Tigmanshu meaning
Tigmanshu (तिग्मांशु) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
The hot-rayed one: the sun; also fire, and Shiva
Also used to mean: of brilliant rays
Tigmanshu (तिग्मांशु) is the Sanskrit tigmāṃśu, from tigma, "sharp" or "hot", and aṃśu, "ray". Monier-Williams gives it as another name for the sun, the "hot-rayed" one, citing the Mahābhārata, the astronomical Sūrya-siddhānta and the Gīta-govinda, and adds the senses fire and Śiva. It is the counterpart of Himanshu, "cool-rayed", a name of the moon. Name lists give Tigmanshu as "the sun" or "of brilliant rays", which matches. A well-known bearer is the film director and actor Tigmanshu Dhulia.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Surya.
