Ravikant meaning
Ravikant (रविकांत) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
The sun-stone, a crystal (= sūryakānta, literally 'sun-loved')
Also used to mean: beloved of the sun, shining light
Ravikant (रविकांत) joins ravi, "the sun", with kānta, "desired, loved, lovely", and so means "beloved of the sun", which is how name lists explain it. In Sanskrit the compound also names a gem: Monier-Williams gives ravikānta as the "sun-stone", the same as sūryakānta, which it explains as "sun-loved", a crystal that old texts say gives out heat when the sun shines on it. So both the literal sense and the dictionary sense tie the name to the sun's light. In South India it is usually spelt Ravikanth.
