Yadunandan (यदुनंदन) joins Yadu and nandana. Monier-Williams gives Yadu as the ancient hero, son of King Yayāti, from whom the Yādava clan and Krishna descend, and nandana as "gladdening" and also "a son". So the name reads "joy of the Yadus" or "son of the Yadu line". Name lists give it as a name of Krishna, and in that sense it fits the parts well. Monier-Williams, however, records yadunandana only as a name of Akrūra, Krishna's Yādava kinsman in the Viṣṇu Purāṇa, so the Krishna sense is a popular one rather than a dictionary entry. The name is traditional in North India.
