Murugesan meaning
Murugesan (முருகேசன்) is a Tamil and Hindu boy's name.
Murukaṉ (Murugan) joined with īcaṉ (lord): Lord Murugan
Murugesan (முருகேசன்) joins Murugan's name with īcaṉ, "lord", from Sanskrit īśa. The Tamil Lexicon gives murukaṉ as a youth and as the god Murugan, from muruku, youth and beauty, and īcaṉ as the Supreme Being, Shiva, or a lord and master. The vowels merge, as in Kumaresan, to give "Lord Muruga". It is a devotional name for boys in Tamil Nadu and among Sri Lankan Tamils, who also use the related form Murugesu.
