Antara meaning
Antara (अंतरा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, अ, it is a Mesh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Within, in the middle, between; inner
Also used to mean: inner self
Antara (अंतरा) comes from Sanskrit. Monier-Williams gives antarā as "in the middle, inside, within, between", and the related antara as "interior" and, as a noun, "the interior, the soul, the heart". Name lists usually explain Antara as "inner self", which draws on these senses. In Hindustani music the antarā is the second section of a song, after the opening sthāyī, which gives the name a musical association. The name is used in Bengal and across India.
