Agrima meaning
Agrima (अग्रिमा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, अ, it is a Mesh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Foremost, leading; eldest, principal
Also used to mean: leader, first
Agrima (अग्रिमा) comes from Sanskrit agrima, which Monier-Williams defines as being in front, preceding, furthest advanced, foremost, eldest and principal. The word is built on agra, "front" or "tip", the same root seen in agraṇī, "leader". Name lists give it as "leader" or "first in line", which matches the dictionary well. A curiosity of the dictionary is that agrimā on its own also names a fruit, the custard apple, but families clearly choose the name for its meaning of coming first. It is used by Hindi-speaking families.
