Rajyashree meaning
Rajyashree (राज्यश्री) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, रा, it is a Tula rashi name (Chitra nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
The fortune of a kingdom, personified as Lakshmi
Also used to mean: prosperity of the kingdom, queen
Rajyashree (राज्यश्री) joins rājya, "kingdom, sovereignty", and śrī, "fortune, glory". Monier-Williams records rājya-śrī as Lakṣmī, the goddess of fortune, personified as the glory of a kingdom, and as the name of a daughter of Pratāpaśīla in Bāṇa's Harshacharita. That princess, Rajyashri, was the sister of the emperor Harsha; widowed and taken captive, she escaped to the Vindhya forests, where Harsha found and rescued her. Name lists give "prosperity of the kingdom" or "queen". It is a different name from Rajashree, though close in sound.
