Jayanti meaning
Jayanti (जयंती) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Victorious (feminine); a flag; a name of Durga
Jayanti (जयंती) is the feminine of Sanskrit jayanta, "victorious", from jaya, "victory". Monier-Williams gives jayantī several further senses: a flag, the barley sown at the start of the Dussehra festival, the night of Krishna's birth, and a name of the goddess Durgā and of a daughter of Indra. The festival sense survives in everyday Hindi, where a jayantī is a birth anniversary, as in Gandhi Jayanti. Name lists give the meaning as victorious. In South India the name is usually spelt Jayanthi.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Durga.
