Anvay meaning
Anvay (अन्वय) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, अ, it is a Mesh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Succession, connection; logical order; lineage, family
Anvay (अन्वय) is the Sanskrit anvaya, from anu-, "after", and the verb i, "to go": that which follows on. Monier-Williams gives its senses as following and succession, connection and association, the natural order of words in a sentence, logical connection between cause and effect, and descendants, lineage or family. Students of Sanskrit still use anvaya for rearranging a verse into prose order to understand it. Name lists give Anvay as "connection" or "lineage", matching the dictionary; glosses such as "fearless" found on a few lists are not among its senses.
