Arasi meaning
Arasi (அரசி) is a Tamil girl's name.
Queen
Arasi (அரசி) is the Tamil word for a queen, the feminine of aracaṉ, "king". The Tamil Lexicon illustrates it with a Tevaram line in praise of Mangayarkkarasi, the Pandya queen counted among the Shaiva saints, whose own name means "queen among women". Arasi is used as a name on its own and very often as the ending of longer girls' names such as Ezhilarasi, Kalaiarasi and Tamilarasi. Name lists give "queen", the same as the dictionary. The matching boys' forms are Arasu and Arasan.
