Archita meaning
Archita (अर्चिता) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, अ, it is a Mesh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Honoured, worshipped, respected
Archita (अर्चिता) is the feminine of Sanskrit arcita, which Monier-Williams defines as honoured, worshipped, respected and saluted. It is the past participle of the root arc, "to praise, to worship", the same root that gives arcanā, worship, and so the names Archana and Archit. Name lists give "worshipped" or "honoured", in line with the dictionary; a few give "rays of the sun", which seems to come from a different word, arcis, "ray". Archita is used across India.
