Azhagan meaning
Azhagan (அழகன்) is a Tamil boy's name.
A handsome man; in a later sense, Vishnu
Also used to mean: beautiful
Azhagan (அழகன்) is built on the Tamil word aḻaku, "beauty", with the masculine ending -aṉ, so it simply means a handsome man. The Tamil Lexicon records it in that sense from the Kamba Ramayanam, and its supplement adds a second meaning: Viṣṇu. The root aḻaku also covers excellence and happiness. The Vishnu link is still alive near Madurai, where Vishnu is worshipped as Kallalagar at Alagar Koil. Name lists give the name as "handsome" or "beautiful", which matches the dictionary. The ḻ is the soft Tamil sound often written zh.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Vishnu.
