Daksh meaning
Daksh (दक्ष) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Able, fit, clever, dexterous, expert
Daksh (दक्ष) is the Sanskrit dakṣa, "able, fit, clever, dexterous, expert". As a masculine noun Monier-Williams gives ability, mental power and strength of will. In mythology Dakṣa is one of the Prajāpatis, the creator figures, and a son of Brahmā. He is the father of Satī, Śiva's first wife: when he held a great sacrifice and did not invite his son-in-law, Satī died, grieved by the insult, and Śiva destroyed the rite. In one Vedic list Dakṣa is also counted among the Ādityas, the sons of Aditi. Name lists give Daksh as "skilled" or "capable", in line with the dictionary, and some link it with Daksha Prajapati. The name is short, modern-sounding and easy to spell.
