Shekhar meaning
Shekhar (शेखर) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Crown of the head; chaplet, crest, diadem; peak; the best of anything
Shekhar (शेखर) is Sanskrit śekhara. Monier-Williams gives the top or crown of the head, a chaplet or wreath of flowers worn on the head, a crown or crest, the peak or summit of a mountain, and the chief or best of anything; in music it is the opening refrain of a song. It is best known in names of Shiva such as Chandrashekhar, "he who wears the moon as his crest". Name lists give Shekhar as "crest" or "peak". The film director Shekhar Kapur is a well-known bearer.
