Samrat meaning
Samrat (सम्राट) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Universal or supreme ruler; paramount sovereign over other princes
Also used to mean: emperor, king of kings
Samrat (सम्राट) is the Hindi form of Sanskrit samrāj, "supreme ruler". Monier-Williams gives it as a universal or supreme ruler, a title the Vedas give to Varuṇa, the Ādityas, Indra and Manu, and then as a paramount sovereign: a king who rules over other kings and has performed the Rājasūya sacrifice. In Hindi samrat is the usual word for emperor, used of rulers such as Ashoka and Akbar. Name lists give Samrat as "emperor" or "king of kings", in line with the dictionary.
