Balendu meaning
Balendu (बालेंदु) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
The new or waxing moon
Also used to mean: young moon
Balendu (बालेंदु) joins Sanskrit bāla, "young", and indu, one of the oldest Sanskrit words for the moon. Monier-Williams records bālendu as the new or waxing moon, citing Kālidāsa's Kumārasambhava, the poem of Shiva and Parvati in which the crescent is Shiva's ornament. Baby-name lists give it as "young moon" or "crescent moon", which matches the dictionary. It carries the same meaning as Balachandra, with indu in place of candra.
