Darshak meaning

Darshak (दर्शक) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.

One who sees or looks at; one who shows or points out

Also used to mean: spectator, viewer

Darshak (दर्शक) comes from darśaka, a Sanskrit word built on the root dṛś, "to see". Monier-Williams gives it two sides: one who sees or looks at something, and one who shows or points it out. It also lists a door-keeper, a skilful man and the name of a prince. In modern Hindi and Gujarati darshak is the everyday word for a spectator or viewer, and Indian name lists give the name the same meaning. It is used mostly in Gujarat and western India, and belongs to the family of names such as Darsh and Darshan.
