Dhyani meaning
Dhyani (ध्यानी) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Contemplative, engaged in religious meditation (dhyānin, nominative dhyānī)
Also used to mean: meditative, one who meditates
Dhyani (ध्यानी) is the Sanskrit dhyānin, "contemplative, engaged in religious meditation", in the form dhyānī that is also used in Hindi and Gujarati. Monier-Williams cites it from the Mahabharata. It is made from dhyāna, "meditation", the seventh limb of yoga, and so is a close cousin of the name Dhyana. Name lists give "meditative" or "one who meditates", which matches the dictionary. In Sanskrit the word describes a person of either sex; as a first name it is given to girls, especially in Gujarati families.
